The purpose of this competition is to give students an opportunity to learn from the process of adjudication and observation.
The process will use the adjudication form, found on page 3 of the PDF file on this website.
Schools
wishing to bring traditional choirs are encouraged to do so. A modified
adjudication form will be available.
There is a fee of $100.00 per adjudication to pay for the cost of the auditorium, necessary supplies, adjudicators and the technical crew. The fee structure for the festival is designed to break even.
The fee structure covers the admission of all listed performers and listed personnel. Additionally each director will receive five complimentary tickets. An admission of $5.00 will be charged for all others. Children under six are admitted free. The first twelve show choirs to return a completed application will participate. Preliminary performance order will be determined by postmark. The first application received will perform last or at the director’s preferred time (if available). Choirs must check in one hour prior to their assigned warm up time or their director’s assigned adjudication times, whichever comes first. Each group will have twenty (20) minutes for warm-up in a separate room. Thirty (30) minutes will be allotted for each group's performance. This includes set-up, performance and breakdown. A penalty of one point per minute will be assessed for exceeding the time limit. Timing will stop for the introduction of the group's performance and will resume on the first musical note or first movement by a performer.
